Since I haven't really updated in a while, this might be a long one. So let's see... what's been going on the past few weeks?

During the second weekend of July, we had our Mosaic (Career Group) retreat. This was the first retreat we've had in over three years. Once all the carpool rides were organized, we all headed for a weekend in Palm Springs. I drove my car, taking Faye, Alanie, and Normita as passengers. Yes, nothing like driving to the desert on a hot Friday afternoon in the middle of rush hour traffic. Sometime in between listening to Parokya ni Edgar and M.Y.M.P. songs, Faye and I were joking around about the possibility of the car overheating. Stop-n-go traffic, 100°F weather, A/C turned on, broken temperature gauge... all the ingredients were there. But naah... the car hasn't had a history of overheating. About ten minutes later... haha! Smoke/steam started coming out from under the hood. So what was the first thing we did after we pulled over?

Yup, we took pictures. ^_^

Anyway, we finally arrived at the house we rented for the weekend. It only took us a couple extra hours to drive with the heater turned on while looking to buy a replacement for the radiator cap that just broke.

It was a good, refreshing retreat. We spent more time with each other, especially the relative newcomers like Merrychris, Joanne, and John Kidd. We also got to know Pastor Lito and his wife, Ate Loida, more. Lots of fun, fellowship, and getting into God's Word.

Oh, we also played this game which involves thinking of the longest word possible that uses each letter of the alphabet only once. The longest I could think of was AMBIDEXTROUSLY. Fourteen letters. Is there one longer?

Well, here's the token group picture courtesy of Jourdan and Joanna Tesoro.

More pictures from the Mosaic Retreat weekend.

Then, on the 16th, we had a party for my nephew, Landon's 2nd birthday. Wow, he's two years old already. Seems like it was only yesterday when I was in the hospital when he was born.

Even more pictures.

Last week was Vacation Bible School at church. This year's theme was Serengeti Trek. You can find the highlights music video here. Be sure to look out for the dancing skills of Benjie and Jiro, Carlos' drum playing, Shiela and TJ shying away from the camera, and many more.

This past weekend was also Roger and Lizette's wedding and a baby dedication for Rem and Coco's son, Benjamin on Saturday. On Sunday, there was also a picnic in the park after church. Been pretty busy, but so fun. Lots of pictures, of course. You guys know where to look.
